    Gail from ME Asked

My son is getting ready to attend Festival Disney with his classmates. The Directors are planning on having the high school group (of 100) move as a large mass between parks. Can you give an estimate of how long it will take for all 100 to reach a park?

    Hi Gail!

How exciting that your son's school is attending one of the amazing Disney Youth Programs! These kids are going to remember this performance for the rest of their lives, as well as the venue.

Walt Disney World Resort clocks in at about 40 square miles, with the theme and water parks being physically separated from each other within that footage. There are a few factors to consider, such as between which two parks this bunch is bouncing and how they are getting from point A to point B. But to guide this entire guild on Disney's complimentary resort transportation I'm going to say to allow about 90 minutes on average.

Disney's Complimentary Resort Buses are by far the largest network of getting from point A to point B. Each route runs continuously between just two stops, and they are estimated to drop-off and pick-up every 20 minutes. The ride between two parks is anywhere from 7 to 20 minutes, but I allowed for so much time since each bus is only so big, and your group may need two or even three.

There are other options for transporting this troop, such as using the Monorail between Epcot and Magic Kingdom Park, boats where available, and even walking between Epcot's side gate and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Pro Tip: If leaving Disney's Animal Kingdom or Disney's Hollywood Studios to go to Magic Kingdom Park, or vis versa, send those who don't fit on the first bus to the Ticket and Transportation Center. The TTC is kind of like a 'Park and Ride' where buses funnel to all parks, and is also directly connected to Magic Kingdom via the Monorail.

I hope this helped, Gail, and I hope the kids have an amazing time!
