    Megan from MN Asked

My son had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He is almost 4 and not yet in a wheel chair. However, he gets tired quickly. Since he is almost 4 he doesn't fit into a stroller. Since wagon's are not allowed do you have any other suggestions?

    Hi Megan!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It sounds like you and your family are the next set of Incredibles to be visiting the Parks. Let's make sure your baby Jack-Jack is all set to go!

My kiddos are in the twilight zone of being a bit too big for a stroller, but still little enough to tire out. One of our "tips" is to rent a stroller while we are in the Parks. The Disney strollers are big enough to comfortably hold my almost seven-year-old, with a good bit of legroom. This way, we can navigate the complimentary transportation sans stroller, but everyone can ride in style in the Parks. You also might want to consider a double-stroller rental. That way you have some room to place bags and all the fun things you will find in the Parks.

I know how important it is not to overheat with Duchenne's, and you are visiting during "perfect Florida weather" time - not too hot, not too cold. January is my favorite time of yEAR! But regardless, you might want to consider a few other things to accommodate your son. First - take advantage of Disney transportation and Disabled Parking Lots. Both of these equal less walking for him.

Second, do you know about the Disability Access Service (DAS) and it's accompanying Card? The DAS Card is designed to make waiting for the attractions easier for guests with special needs, especially those who are unable to wait for long periods in line. Stop by Guest Relations in any of the Parks to discuss your amazing boy's needs.

Megan, if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come back. I wish you both all the "powers" in the 'World!
