I want to take my son to Disney World for a week vacation. I only have about $1500 to $1800 to work with. Is it even possible with my budget?

    Hi Lisa!

I have some great news for you because it is totally possible to have a week vacation in Walt Disney World on a tight budget!  I am a single parent and I have been going to Walt Disney World with my son since 2007. We have had such an incredible time together on those trips and we also were able to do it economically on a limited budget. Here is what I would suggest based on my experience:

    1. Stay at a Value Resort during the Value Season (we normally go at the end of August or early September) Pop Century or the All Star Resorts (Sports, Movies, or Music).

    2. Take advantage of the free dining package if it is offered again because this gets you two paid for meals each day (historically it has been offered at the end of August to the end of September)

    3. Bring or purchase breakfast food to eat in your room before heading to the Parks

    4. Use the Magical Express Service--this is free transportation to and from the Orlando Airport

    5. Use the free transportation at Walt Disney World--You do not have to rent a car and you can travel anywhere in Walt Disney World.

    6. Buy Park Tickets with your Package--Only buy enough Park Tickets for your full days during your vacation. On your arrival and departure day find other things to do that do not require using a one day's Park Ticket

By using these tips that I listed above, I was able to have a 7 day Walt Disney World vacation with my son for around $1,500.00!  Please keep asking us Moms and Dads your questions as you plan your Walt Disney World vacation!

I hope that you and your son make some magical lifetime memories together on your Walt Disney World vacation!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
