Hi Cheryl,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Mickey and Minnie Mouse and the gang will be so happy to greet your son at the Walt Disney World Resort!
My family has found the
Services for Guests with Disabilities Guide helpful, especially the
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities Guide. The mobility guide lists the attractions at each park that will allow your son to remain in his wheelchair. Some attractions require guests to transfer. We have also found the guides for guests with disabilities quite helpful. The
Magic Kingdom Guide will give you a good idea of the additional information that is included in each guide.
Also, use the park guides to find info on transportation accessibility. Disney's complimentary
Resort Transportation is generally quite accessible for guests in wheelchairs or electric conveyance vehicles (ECVs). Watercraft vary in their accessibility, so just check with a cast member at the boat dock prior to boarding. If you have other specific questions, feel free to contact Disability Services at 407-560-2547 or disability.services@disneyparks.com. When I have contacted them, cast members have been able to answer my questions!
Cheryl, I do hope you make advanced dining reservations and that you plan to make Fast Pass+ selections. Both of these options will reduce your wait time for rides and meals!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
