My 5yo son is diagnosed w/ADHD & OCD/Anxiety.Because ADHD is often misunderstood as a behavioral problem not the cognitive disability it is,I am worried they will not make the same accommodations as for my Autistic niece.Anyone have experience?Help!

    Hi Melissa!

I'm so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I, too, have a son with special needs so I completely understand your concern. I have always been so impressed with the way Disney handles needs of every kind. They are extremely sensitive to each and every Guest which I always appreciate so much.

When you arrive at a Park on your first day, stop by Guest Services which is located just inside the entrance gates at each of the Parks. Take a minute to discuss your needs and concerns with a Cast Member there as he/she is the one who can best advise you as to what your options are. I have learned through the years that planning ahead as much as possible is a fantastic way to  create a seamless, stress-free Walt Disney World visit for our son. Making Advanced Dining Reservations and booking FastPasses are two ways we avoid long wait times as much as possible. Planning ahead also adds structure to his day which is so helpful!

Here's wishing you a magical Walt Disney World visit with your little guy. As you are planning, I hope you will come back to see us if there is anything else we can do to help.

    Have a wonderful day!
