Hi- My son and I are coming to Disneyland for his first visit next month. He is 2 1/2. I am planning on bringing his Bob stroller with us to use in the park. Should I be concerned about leaving it outside an attraction? Do you suggest bringing a bike lock?

    Hi, Marty!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I bet you and your little Mouseketeer are looking forward to your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort...it’s just around the pixie-dusted corner!

There are many designated stroller parking areas throughout both theme parks where you can temporarily leave your stroller while enjoying attractions and entertainment with your son. When my family visits Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, I like to mark the stroller with a special sign, balloon, or brightly-colored ribbon so it can be quickly spotted in the crowd and so it’s not easily confused with another family’s stroller.

I have taken my own stroller to the theme parks countless times with no issues. However, do keep in mind that you shouldn’t leave anything valuable or irreplaceable in the stroller seat or basket while it is unattended. I keep most personal items and essentials, like our camera and the kids’ prized souvenirs, in a backpack that can be quickly unclipped from the stroller when we are off adventuring with our two little ones. If you return to a stroller parking area and don’t see your stroller in the exact spot you left it, look around nearby as they are sometimes moved or re-arranged by Cast Members to make room for others. Stroller locks and bike locks are discouraged at Disney Parks because if you tether it to a pole or fence, a Cast Member may cut the lock off to move the stroller in the interest of safety.

I hope this information is helpful, Marty. Please visit us again with any other planning questions you may have as you prepare for your little boy’s first visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
