My son will be clebrating his 1st birthday 3 weeks prior to our family's first trip to WDW but we have to wait for my DD's Fall Break to go. Will we be able to do anything special for his 1st B-day or will it be too late?

Hi Jeanne!  You can most certainly help your son celebrate his birthday a little late at Walt Disney World.  Since he is only one he would not have qualified for the free ticket to a park but you can help make this occasion special none the less!

Be sure and pick up a complementary Happy Birthday button at the Guest Service desks in all four parks.  If this is your families first visit then be sure and pick up a First Time Visit button for each of you as well!

A great way to celebrate is to order a special cake for one of your dining reservations during your stay.  You can order a unique one through the cake hotline, 407-827-2253, or simply ask when you arrive at the restaurant that you would like a cake for dessert as it is your son's birthday.  You can choose between chocolate and vanilla.

The Disney florist is also able to help you with some wonderful decorations for your resort room.  This can be as simple as balloons or elaborate as gift baskets.  You can see examples on line at www.disneyflorist.com or by calling 407-827-3505.  They can personalize anything that might interest you.

Other wonderful ways to make the trip special for everyone is to design your own Mickey ears at Downtown Disney or the Magic Kingdom, design your own pins, or design your own t-shirts at the new location in Downtown Disney.  What a fun way to have the family celebrate together!
