My son will be celebrating his 6th birthday, and my nephew his 1st birthday when we visit in September. This is also their first time visiting WDW. What can I do to ensure that their day is extra special while on vacation? Thank you!

    Hi Teaka,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Mickey and Minnie Mouse just started dancing when they learned that your son and nephew will celebrate their birthdays at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Be sure that you make dining reservations on the special days. Our girls love greeting their favorite characters at Character Meals. They have jumped in the party line at The Crystal Palace and danced with Cinderella's evil stepmother at 1900 Park Fare.

Once you have your dining reservations set, I suggest that you order a special cake to celebrate the boys. Check out the Cakes at the Walt Disney World Resort. Your cake could be delivered to a restaurant or your resort hotel room. Chef Mickey's, The Crystal Palace and Hollywood & Vine are all popular restaurants little ones enjoy. Remember, however, that the characters can seem larger than life for infants and toddlers!

There are a number of other ways to customize your celebration. Our girls have adored the balloons we ordered for them from Disney Floral & Gifts. If you pick up a celebration button from the front desk of your resort hotel, when your son wears it, cast members will take notice!

If your son considers himself a rebel and can wield a light saber, I suggest you send him to Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple on his birthday at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Arrive prior to park opening and, once the park opens, move swiftly to the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost for sign-ups. Your recruit must be with you to register for training.

Teaka, have a magical first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
