    Ay from WI Asked

My son and I are going on a Bahamas cruise march 17-21 on Magic and I was wondering if there is a formal dinner to pack appropriate clothes for and if people are supposed to dress up for the pirate party on the 19th?

    Ahoy, Amy!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel - thanks for stopping by!

On the four-night Bahamian cruise on the Disney Magic, you'll have one "dress-up" night, the second night of your cruise. This is not considered a "formal" night. Appropriate attire would be a jacket for men, and a dress or pantsuit for women. No need to pack your sequined ball gown, a simple dressy outfit will be fine! Depending on your son's age, it would be fine for him to wear a nice button-down shirt and slacks. We usually dress as though we were going to an upscale restaurant for a nice dinner.

For Pirate Night, you'll see every level of commitment to the "pirate look"! Some will opt for a simple bandana and eye patch, while others will have a full pirate costume complete with parrot (fake, let's hope!) on their shoulder. You can choose to dress up as much (or as little) as you want for this fun night.

Also on the Disney Magic, check your daily schedule on Pirate Night for "Skulls and Scurry Pirate Transformations", where, for a small fee, you can get a mini pirate makeover just in time to become part of Captain Jack Sparrow's scurvy crew! These makeovers are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, and times and exact locations will be listed in your Personal Navigator.

I hope this helps with your planning and packing. Have a blast on your voyage on the Disney Magic!
