My son is Aspergers and I'm taking him to Disney in May for Star Wars Weekend, it's his obsession. We will be using the trip to celebrate both birthdays which are later in the year and some personal triumps, Can we do b-day buttons and cakes to cleberate?

    Hi Carie,

My family has enjoyed picking up buttons at the theme parks for many years.  Just stop in City Hall in the Magic Kingdom, or at Guest Services in Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom, or Disney's Hollywood Studios.  A lot of guests enjoy the special attention the birthday button usually provides.

Birthday cakes can be ordered at most of the full service restaurants in Walt Disney World.  I recommend calling the individual restaurant in advance to see what cakes are available and to reserve one.  However, my experience over the years has been that it is possible to order a very small cake "on the spot" at most full service restaurants.  Just talk to the cast member at the podium when you first come into the restaurant.

If you are interested in a custom cake, personalized for your and your son's birthdays, you can call the "cake hotline" at (407) 827-2253.

You can get more ideas on how to customize your celebration here.  Also talk to a Dream Maker at Disney Floral & Gifts.  They can do some amazing things.  A Dream Maker can be reached at (407) 827-3505.  Finally, be sure to inform the cast member when you book your reservation that it is a birthday celebration trip!

    Have a magical vacation!
