My son is in the Army reserves. There will be 4 of us, including him, going to Disney in the next 2 weeks. where can I purchase tickets using his Military discount? Also I thought I saw somewhere that 50% of the group has to be military, is this true?

    Hello Susan,
So glad you could join us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You must be so proud of your son being in the Army Reserves-from our military family to yours, please give him our sincere thanks!

Your son can purchase Military Promotional Tickets from any ticket window, guest relations, or at Shades of Green located on Walt Disney World property (note that at Shades of Green, you will not pay Florida sales tax).  A valid military ID is necessary to purchase them, so he must be there; up to six tickets may be purchased with one ID per year. There is no rule regarding the number of military members in the group, so what you thought you saw was not true.

Susan, I'd love to take just a minute to share one of our favorite things to see when we spend the day in the Magic Kingdom Park.  The Flag Retreat is a beautiful flag-folding ceremony where a Guest veteran is presented with the flag that flew over the Magic Kingdom that day after a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America.  I rarely get through this ceremony with dry eyes.  I hope you have an opportunity to enjoy it during your upcoming visit.

Have a fantastic time! Come back and see us again if you have any additional questions!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy S.
