My son is going to be 6 in April 2011 and we will be at Disney for his birthday. I booked lunch at the Cinderella Castle becaus ehe said his little sister would like that, but would it be better for a boy to eat at Crystal Palace, what other options?

Joanna, it sounds like your son is a prince of a child!  How very thoughtful of him to consider his younger sister's wishes in the selection of his birthday meal location!  Congratulations on raising such a wonderful, unselfish young man.

While the overarching theme at Cinderella's Royal Table is indeed princess-driven, that doesn't mean a six-year-old prince wouldn't enjoy the experience.  As the mother of a son, however, I understand your concern that he might not feel that the experience is geared toward him.  I'd hate to deprive him, though, of seeing the magical expressions on his sister's face as she encounters Cinderella and friends.

If you'd like to move your son's birthday celebration to a more boy-oriented character experience, you might want to consider a meal at O'hana at Disney's Polynesian Resort.  Stitch, that mischievous alien, runs the show at O'hana and you can always count on a good time for all at this restaurant. He is only present at breakfast and dinner, though.  Although Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is not an official character meal, the servers at this restaurant are real characters in their own right!  All kinds of raucous fun takes place here.  This is one of my son's favorite places to dine.  And, as you mentioned, the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom is an option as well, particularly if he loves Winnie the Pooh and friends.

Your son sounds like an unusually mature and kind young man.  My advice would be to lay out all the options and ask him what he'd enjoy most.  Please wish him happy birthday from the Moms Panel!
