Someone told us that we can purchase, somewhere at the Animal Kingdom, cold packs to wear on our necks to keep us cool when we travel there this summer. We just purchased Frogg Towels at Walmart to try. Any suggestions to help us stay cool?

    HI Gary,

I have a couple of suggestions for you to help you stay cool in the hot Florida summer.  The Frogg Towels are a great idea.  We have used them as well, and it is remarkable at how cool they stay.  I am not certain what you are referring to at Animal Kingdom.  We were there last month, and I didn't see anything specific at Animal Kingdom.  There are neck bandanas available in store that you can get wet and will help you cool off as well.  Any sporting goods store should have these, and my son has worn them during his Marching Band season.  There are spray water bottles with a fan for purchase at any of the theme parks that my kids love to use!  I would suggest wearing a performance shirt rather than cotton t-shirt outside. This will cool you off immensely.  I would also schedule a late lunch after 1:00 pm during the hottest part of the day.  This will allow you to be inside an air-conditioned restaurant for about an hour or more.  Many attractions at the theme parks are in air-conditioning as well.  Stay hydrated and drink often!  It is so easy to forget this simple advise.  We always bring in water bottles and fill them up throughout the day and take mandatory water breaks.  Finally, if it is too hot, go back to your resort and jump in the pool then return to the parks when it is cooler.  Have a magical vacation Gary!
