Can someone explain the opening ceremony? I never knew about this for our last trip. We will only be at WDW one day and are planning to spend the entire day at Magic Kingdom. When do we need to be there and where do we go>?

    Hi Keri,

You need to see the opening ceremony at the Magic Kingdom at least once.  It's a truly delightful experience.  The citizens of Main Street U.S.A. and the Disney characters congregate at the train station to welcome the day's guests with music and a small celebration.

Plan to arrive 20-30 minutes before the Magic Kingdom's scheduled opening on any day.  (If there are morning Extra Magic Hours, the ceremony will be held before those hours).  Present your theme park ticket, go through bag check, and then simply stand in front of the train station to catch the show.  It's a great way to start your day in the Magic Kingdom.

Best wishes for a vacation sprinkled with extra pixie dust!
