We have 3 small children, so I'm wondering if it's worth the cost Savings to land in Orlando at 11:30pm vs an earlier flight. Anyone have experience checking into a Disney resort after midnight?

Hi, Haley! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing us this great question!

My family actually debated the same thing when our girls were toddlers and we decided to go with the cost savings so that we could treat them to a makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! That being said, it was definitely a long day for everyone! Because we were arriving later, we had to collect our own luggage before embarking Disney’s Magical Express. Also, since it wasn’t as busy at the airport at that time, we had a longer wait for Disney’s Magical Express, as they try to fill up the buses as much as possible before departing. If you do decide to go with the later flight, here are some of my suggestions:

    1) Consider a private transfer as waiting for Disney’s Magical Express at that time can be tiresome for little ones!

    2) Pack some pajamas for the kiddos to wear once you arrive at the airport, or if you prefer, have them wear them on the flight. This will make bedtime a breeze!

    3) Try not to plan an early morning breakfast or to be at a Disney Theme Park right at opening the day after your flight arrives. Give yourself some time to relax and explore your Disney Resort hotel in the daylight, even if the kids are up bright and early.

    4) Your Disney Resort Food Court will most likely be closed upon your arrival, try to have some bedtime snacks packed for small and big kids alike!

I hope these tips help you make your decision. We had a similar 11:30 pm arrival and for our family, we have decided that arriving earlier is well worth the extra expense. We want to spend as much time in the magic as possible!

I hope you have a magical vacation! Come and see us again real soon!
