I am skeptical about some of the restuarants that i have chosen. It will be our first visit to Disney World. HAve you eaten at Be our Guest and Cape May Cafe? Is the food any good?

    Hi Tina,

The new Be Our Guest is probably the toughest reservation in town right now. Disney guests are very excited -- with good reason -- about the food and the amazing decor.

My favorite dishes at dinner so far are the seasonal appetizers salad trio and the salmon with the leek fondue. Oh, and dessert. I think I've tasted every cupcake and cream puff, and they are delicious.

Eating in Be Our Guest transports you to the Beast's castle, and even if you aren't a fan of the movie like everyone in my family, I think you will find all the themed touches fascinating.

We also like the bright, beach-inspired atmosphere of the Cape May Cafe. Like most Disney buffets, it is a combination of the familiar (clam chowder, peel and eat shrimp, assorted fried fish and seafood items, corn on the cob, roast chicken) and the slightly more exotic (seasoned mussels served both warm and cold,  quinoa salad, seafood pot pie, interesting sauces on the fish of the day and the carving station selections).

The thing we enjoy most about buffets such as Cape May Cafe is that they give you the chance to try things you might not order normally. There's no risk of waste if you can take one taste or two of something you're uncertain about. You just might discover a new favorite dish!

I hope that helps. I don't think you will be disappointed at either restaurant. If you want to see more extensive menus from these and other Disney restaurants, you might want to check allears.net, an unofficial Disney site.

Enjoy your time at Walt Disney World, and please let me know if I can answer any more of your planning questions.
