Hi Sheryl,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I see you are counting down the weeks until your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, and I’m so excited for you!
My favorite Disney Princess is Belle, so I’m loving that you’ve done your homework. The
Walt Disney World Resort Park Rules prohibit monopod stands “that cannot fit inside a standard backpack or that extend over 6’.” While I see that in the rules, I’m not sure that a SitGo will be permitted in the theme parks – I visit a lot and can’t recall ever seeing one. The Park Rules also prohibit folding chairs, and I wonder if Security might see these in the same category. It would not be magical to bring your SitGo to Walt Disney World only to find it’s not allowed, so I recommend contacting Guest Services at (407) 939-5277 or
speak to a Cast Member via chat as you decide whether to include it on your packing list.
Sheryl, I’ve visited Walt Disney World three times with a broken foot, and a few times with my dad, who uses a cane when doing a lot of walking. I can tell you that there are lots of benches throughout Disney – in fact, one of my daughter’s favorite things to do in Walt Disney World is sit on a bench with her grandpa (and a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar!) and watch the happy families, fun t-shirts and princess dresses, Mickey balloons, and bubbles float by. If you have mobility concerns because of a disability, I recommend taking a look at the
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities, as there may be accommodations available to help reduce your amount of standing.
Have so much fun next month! As you count down the days, be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news about tasty treats, new experiences, and cool summer fun to be had all around The Most Magical Place on Earth, and please come back and see us if you have any more questions.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
