Hi there! My sister and I are visiting Disneyland in August. We’re flying into John Wayne airport. What is the best way to get to our hotel? We don’t want to wait at the airport too long because we want to get to the park right away!

    Greetings Aimee!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I can't wait for you and your sister to have a magical vacation together at the Happiest Place on Earth. I totally understand the thrill and excitement when you step off the plane wanting to get to the parks as soon as possible. I love flying into John Wayne Airport since it is only about 15 miles away from the Disneyland Resort area. You have a few transportation choices that all may be fairly quick. The most convenient option is to take the Disneyland Resort Express from the airport to the Resort area. You can see online if this shuttle will take you directly to your hotel or one close by. The Disneyland Resort Express leaves approximately every hour starting at 8:30 AM until 7:00 PM and is approximately a 30 minute ride. You can purchase tickets for this in advance or when you arrive.
Another great option is using a taxi or rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft to take you directly to your hotel. These can be found in the Ground Transportation Center (GTC) on the Lower Level of the East Parking Structure. Alternatively you may even save time renting a car as you can drive directly to theme park parking, leaving your bags in your car if you want to hit the parks right away. I have done this option a few times!

I hope this helps, and please feel free to stop by with any other questions as you plan your trip. See ya real soon!
