Hi! me, my sister and her friend and mother are going to disney world in Nov. 2014. Staying at the Art of Animation hotel (yay!) We will be there on Thanksgiving day. Can you tell us some places to eat for Thanksgiving? Thanks :)

    Hi Aubrey,

My family and I spent a wonderful few days at Walt Disney World over Thanksgiving, so I'm happy to help you plan your family's feast next year.

Virtually all the restaurants will have a Thanksgiving special that features traditional fare, even many of the quick service spots. So your first decision is whether you want a fancy dinner, a buffet, something served family style or a meal that is more casual and inexpensive.

If you are interested in a signature dining experience, I would consider California Grill or Artist Point. Both are among our favorites for their upscale cuisine and atmosphere.

For family-style dining, I'd suggest Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom for its traditional cuisine. It has a holiday meal feel to me year-round. 'Ohana at the Polynesian and Garden Grill in Epcot also serve delicious family-style meals.

My family opted for the buffet at Boma for our Thanksgiving dinner. There was turkey, stuffing and trimmings, and we still got to sample the African-influenced dishes there that we love so much. The buffet at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness also would be a good choice.

The best deal I saw over Thanksgiving was at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. That counter service venue was serving a full turkey dinner for less than $15 per person, and it looked yummy.

If you opt for a table service restaurant, I urge you to make an advanced dining reservation as close to the 180-day mark as possible. Reservations will open in late May, and Thanksgiving spots are snapped up quickly.

Those are a few of my favorites. As I said, you should be able to get turkey at almost any venue. Your decision really will come down to price, atmosphere and location.

Please feel free to check back with me if you'd like details on other restaurants I haven't mentioned or more about the ones I have. I'll be glad to help guide you further.

    Enjoy!
