Sister has foot problem, can’t stand in place for long periods of time, also can’t sit for long, needs to be walking to prevent feet from cramping, would DAS work for her? Also, is there a pass for front row seating for visually impaired guests? Thanks

Hi, Charles!  Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

As the mother of a child with special needs, I can tell you from personal experience that the Walt Disney World Resort does an excellent job of making the magic accessible to everyone.  This is just one of the many reasons why my family returns to Walt Disney World year after year.

I would recommend that you take a look at the Services for Guests with Disabilities section of the Walt Disney World website.  There you can find a detailed pdf file outlining the process for obtaining Disability Access Services and how these services are used to assist guests with disabilities.  Upon your arrival at one of the Walt Disney World theme parks, you and your entire traveling party will want to visit Guest Services.  At Guest Services, your sister will be able to speak to a Cast Member about her needs, and they can determine if Disability Access Services are right for her.

While you are visiting Guest Services, you may also want to see about obtaining a handheld audio description device for the guest in your party who is visually impaired.  These devices are available on a first-come, first-served basis for a fully refundable daily deposit.  These audio description devices provide supplemental audio describing visual elements for various park attractions and shows.  You can read more about services for guests with visual disabilities on the Walt Disney World website.

If you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World vacation, please let us know.  Have a magical day!
