Me and my sister are coming to Disney Sept 15th - 18th for my 50th Birthday, we are staying at the Contemporary resort. Any ideas that will make it a weekend to remember! Thanks, Lisa

    Hi Lisa,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. How amazing to get to celebrate your 50th birthday at Walt Disney World!

The first thing that I suggest that you do is to pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button. These are available at Guest Relations at all of the Walt Disney World theme parks as well as at other locations throughout Walt Disney World. Once, my husband and I visited Walt Disney World for his birthday and he wore a birthday button. Upon seeing his birthday button, a cast member at the BoardWalk Bakery brought him a huge cupcake! While this type of magic is not guaranteed, you never know when a little extra pixie dust will be sprinkled on your birthday when wearing a birthday button.

Disney's Contemporary Resort is a great home base for your Walt Disney World celebration. Even though your celebration is coming up very soon, I suggest that you see if you can get a reservation at California Grill. If you are flexible with time and have a party of only two dining, you could get lucky! This restaurant has an amazing view. From high atop Disney's Contemporary Resort, you will have a wonderful view of the fireworks at Magic Kingdom.

Speaking of fireworks, for an extra special treat, look into booking a specialty cruise. There are fireworks cruises that allow you book a boat just for your party, and then you can view the fireworks at Epcot or Magic Kingdom from a vantage point on the water. I have done this with my family, and it is truly a magical experience.

I hope that you have a wonderful time celebrating your magical birthday, Lisa!
