I am a single-parent of 3. Ages 4, 10, and 12. Could you give me some ideas on where should I start from when planning this vacation? I am on a tight budget and I really would like to know how much I can expect to pay for the entire trip also?

    Hello Evelyn!

I am a single parent like you and I have been going to Walt Disney World with my son for the last three years. We have had such an incredible time together on those trips and we also were able to do it economically on a limited budget. Here is what I would suggest based on my experience:

    1. Stay at a Value Resort during the Value Season (we normally go at the end of August or early September) Pop Century or the All Star Resorts (Sports, Movies, or Music)

    2. Stay in one room together if two of your kids do not mind sleeping in the same bed together and one of your kids sleeps in your bed

    3. Take advantage of the free dining package if it is offered again because this gets you two paid for meals each day (historically it has been offered at the end of August to the end of September)

    4. Bring or purchase breakfast food to eat in your room before heading to the Parks

    5. Drive to Walt Disney World if you live close enough (gas is less expensive than plane tickets)

    6. If you choose to fly utilize Disney's Magical Express to get from the airport to your Resort and then use Disney Transportation to get to the Parks

    7. Use a Disney certified Travel Agent to help you get the best deals

I was able to get a 9 day free dining package with park tickets at a Value Resort for around $2,000 for my son and I. So for your family, I would estimate a Walt Disney World costing under $3,000 if you use some of the cost saving tips that I listed above.

I hope that you have magical Disney vacation with your kids!
