I am a single parent and will be visiting Disneyworld for the first time. I wondered whether there were any facilities that allowed single parents to go on rides which their child was not eligible for eg. Space Mountain.

    There really isn't.

My solution would be to arrange for your child to spend a few hours in one of the Disney child care centers. That way you know that he or she is safe and entertained while you have a chance to check out the larger attractions.
