I am a single mother from the UK and thinking of taking my 9 year old and nearly 6 year old to Disney World Florida this year. Are there many rides at the water parks that the 3 of us could go on together as neither are old enough to go alone?

    Greetings Kathryn!

I'm so excited to hEAR that you may be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in the near future! I can certainly understand your concern in wanting to make sure that the three of you can experience many of the attractions together. My family of six has visited both Disney's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park many times in the past.  Due to the ages of our children, my husband and I have often split up with him braving the more thrilling slides with the older two children, while I rode with the younger two. We were definitely able to ride the family raft ride together at both parks. For any slides that were designed for just one person, I would go first and then wait at the bottom of the slide for both of my boys to come down. There is a lifeguard at the top of each slide instructing each guest when it is safe to go. Based on my own personal experience, I found Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park to be the best option for our family. Ski Patrol Training Camp is a fun area for school-age children and preteens featuring a zip line, floating iceberg course with a suspended cargo net overhead and various slides. I also wanted to mention that my twins started riding many of the slides alone at age 5.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please don't hesitate to stop by again with any additional questions that you may have. Best wishes for a magical trip, Kathryn!

    Happy Planning,
