Single mom. Wanting to plan a trip this year, maybe in the fall when there is usually free dining. My son will be 3 1/2 and my daughter 10 months. Would I be crazy trying to go then with them alone? Should I wait until my daughter is older? Advice! Xoxo

    Hi Kati,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I admire your courageous spirit! Traveling alone with little ones is usually an adventure. But, you are absolutely not crazy!

Luckily, the Walt Disney World Resort caters to families of all types and has a variety of planning tools to make your vacation easier to organize. With little ones, I suggest that you plan a few hours at a time in the parks and a few hours at the resort for pool and/or nap time. Second, I suggest that you book your Dining Reservations for Character Meals 180 days in advance. Doing so will allow you to get optimal dining times so that you can keep your children on their respective schedules.

Third, you can book your Fast Pass+ Reservations 60 days in advance of your visit if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. I have learned to book our Fast Passes near our dining reservations if we are dining in the parks. Doing so keeps us from having to trek from one side of the park to another just to eat. With little ones, I would also book our Fast Passes as close together as possible. If you do so, you could eat breakfast, arrive at the park early, ride your three initial Fast Pass rides, explore for a little while, eat lunch and go back to the resort.

Remember that Mommy needs rest also. There are Baby Care Centers in the parks. Change a diaper or just relax. Be sure to check out our planning guide for Traveling with Little Ones. Finally, I suggest that you plan to have a few hours of alone time. Check out the Childcare Services and reserve some time!

    Happy Planning!
