As a single mom I am traveling with my 5 year old son who is severely autistic as well as a 3 year old. Are there people that can help with parks? best place to stay on site?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kate, from a fellow mom of a child with severe Autism.

We see the greatest developmental and social gains from our son during our visits which keep us coming back to Walt Disney World Resort. Rest assured, you'll have a wonderful time.

Kate, may I direct you to Disney's Autism and Cognitive Disabilities Services a useful planning tool in preparation for your visit. I highly recommend downloading the "Guide for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities". Through this guide, you can create daily visual schedules and timelines to acclimate your son to what lies ahead. This guide was created for families in our situation and I rely on it heavily for all our visits.

Upon entry to each Theme Park at Guest Relations, please discuss Disney Parks Disability Access Service with a Cast Member to see if this may be of benefit you. Please take all in your travel party with you to Guest Relations.

Baby Care Centers and First Aid, located in all Theme Parks are great places to relax and unwind, the Cast Members are always helpful and accommodating. Our son is 16 and we still head over to either the Baby Care Center and First Aid to give him a place to relax for a bit.

Planning for Pre-School Kids and Little Ones is also a useful tool with lots of ideas for itineraries, age appropriate attractions and experiences. This planning tool offers lots of great tips.

Kate, have a wonderful time. Please feel free to ask for any assistance in the future with your planning.

    Best Disney Wishes~
