Single mom taking my 7 yr old son to WDW for the first time in Sept. Planning to book WL for convenience but was wondering what mod resorts would be just as convenient (riding the bus w/out huge crowds, long wait s& headaches) without the big pricetag

    Hi Sharon!

My son and I love the Wilderness Lodge Resort, but it is definitely more expensive per night because it is a Deluxe Resort.  I would recommend that you look at staying at Port Orleans French Quarter which is a fabulous Moderate Resort.  Port Orleans French Quarter has a smaller footprint, but it has all the amenities of a Moderate Resort.  It is a quieter and less crowded Resort.  You will have a little longer bus rides to the parks because Port Orleans French Quarter does share buses with Port Orleans Riverside.  Wilderness Lodge is a lot closer to the Magic Kingdom (a short boat or bus ride away) than Port Orleans French Quarter.

I hope that your next trip to Walt Disney World with your son is truly magical!
