I am a single mom taking my two year old to disney world for the first time for 8 days in May! We will be down there for her second birthday as well as my 29th. Any suggestion for celebrating our birthdays and for making the most of our trip?

    Hi Danielle,

How exciting that you and your princess will be celebrating a magical birthday visit to Walt Disney World together.  I can't imagine a better place to champion your special days!  I'd suggest that you pick up some free "birthday buttons" at Guest Relations at whichever park you visit first.  I'm guessing you'll be headed to Magic Kingdom, where you'll find Guest Relations inside City Hall (which will be on your left as you enter the park).  I would also suggest planning a celebratory birthday character meal.  If your daughter loves princesses, you might consider 1900 Park Fare, Akershus or Cinderella's Royal Table.  I love Chef Mickey's for a birthday meal.  The Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto) will help you enjoy your birthdays in style.  Character meals are very popular, so be sure to make reservations as soon as possible (up to 180 days in advance) by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

With a tiny tot in tow, I'd be sure to bring along a stroller from home rather than rent.  You'll find it handy outside the theme parks (around your resort, the airport, etc.)  I'd also recommend taking afternoon breaks back at your resort for lunch, a nap, enjoying the parks, etc. so your daughter doesn't get overwhelmed.

I hope you both have a trip as magical as you are!
