I am a single mom of a 5yo son planning our first ever Disney trip... Interested in going late May 2011, very tight budget... please advise on the following: Does Disney have specials or financial assistance for single-parents? Which parks? Where to stay?

Hi Krystyll! I'm a single mom too, and exciting to see you're planning a magical vacation for you and your son! Although there are no discounts specifically for single moms, Disney does have many special offers, and I highly recommend you take advantage of these. Click here to see what offers are currently available, and check back often.

Here are some of deals/ tips I've used and you might find helpful:

    - Stay at a Disney Value Resort during value season. These resorts are fantastic, and you enjoy all Disney perks, including Disney Magical Express, free transportation on Disney property, eliminating the need to rent a car, access to Extra Magic Hours, great hotel theming and activities.

    - Consider the Disney Dining Plan. The Quick Service Plan, includes two snacks and two counter service meals a day, as well as a refillable mug. We buy fruit and cereal bars for a quick, healthy breakfast in the room, which also saves money.

    - Bring your own snacks, bottled water, juice boxes etc. into the parks.

    - The current Save Up To 40% for late spring, late summer travel is a great deal. Book by March 27, 2011.

    - Don't feel the need to visit a park every day. Take time to enjoy your resort. There is so much to do that doesn't cost money at Disney World.

Hope this helps Krystyll! Write us back if you have any other questions!
