I am a single mom and will be bringing my two daughters this June for the 3 night memory maker. I have a 10 year old and my youngest will be 14 months at the time. Can you tell me what I can't leave Disney without my 10 year old doing/seeing?

    Hi Sarah,

This is one of the toughest questions there is to answer on this panel. I say this because what my children like may not be what your child likes and I would not want to disappoint a child on vacation.

If you have told your 10 year about the trip, then grab him or her and sit down at the computer and look at the Disney website and start planning. This is the best advice I can give you. I will then tell you to look at questions other moms have answered here for guests visiting with 10 year olds. It might spark some ideas.

I would say with three days to concentrate on Magic Kingdom and Epcot. I would do Magic Kingdom, then Epcot and then Magic Kingdom again. I generally say do Epcot first but in this case two days of Magic Kingdom back to back might not be as fun. Also, skip getting the Park Hopper and just get the base ticket. This allows you to spend the whole day in one park.

Your biggest challenge is what to do with the little one for some of the bigger attractions which he or she can not ride. The rides in Magic Kingdom which have height restrictions are Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Some other rides which are dark such as the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean your youngest can ride it just might be dark. Avoid Stitch at all costs.

In Epcot, Test Track, Mission: SPACE and Soarin' will have height restrictions as well. Everything else should be good to go.

For these rides, have an honest conversation with your older child about his or her ability to ride alone. This way you have less to worry about once you are there.

Also, plan a fun dinner at 1900 Park Fare for dinner with Cinderella or in a country at World Showcase.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
