Simba's Activity Center - Is it closed? I am seeing conflicting information on the Disneyworld website and when I call the reservations center

Hi Derek, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'm going to admit it: I was also confused by your question. I did some #resEARch, though, and I think I have it all sorted out. Hakuna Matata!

The root of the confusion is that the several Walt Disney World Children's Activity Centers, including Simba's Cubhouse, closed in 2018. These locations provided childcare services – you could make a reservation and, for a fee, drop your children there for fun entertainment while grown-ups enjoyed a Disney date night. These locations were replaced by Pixar Play Zone, which is a drop-off kids club at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Children ages 4-12 enjoy a super-fun kids-only experience, including a meal and snack, with their favorite Pixar pals. My kids hung out at Pixar Play Zone a few months ago, and they absolutely loved it. (And my husband and I loved our Disney date night!)

Simba's Activity Center opened last fall in the space previously occupied by Simba's Cubhouse at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Simba's Activity Center is a space filled with games and activities for children aged 3-12, and they must be accompanied by an adult while they're working on their roar in that space – it's not a childcare center. The Cast Member I spoke to said that some craft activities may have a fee associated, and they may require reservations, which can be made at the resort's Front Desk. Activities and fees vary, so check the resort's recreation guide, which can be found in your Guest room, for the most up-to-date options and pricing.

I hope that helps, Derek! Please come back and see us if you have any questions about either experience, or other fun activities for cubs around Walt Disney World.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
