Silly question but I'm trying to figure out if a meal will be 1 ddp credit or 2. Does it count as "lunch" as long as your reservation time falls during that window? Or is it like happy hour and sometimes based on when you get the check?

    Hi Samantha,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! No question is a silly question. I am happy to help you navigate the Disney Dining Plan!

To check the number of meal entitlements required at a restaurant, go to the restaurant's home page and click on the link that says "Some Dining Plans Accepted." Once you click on that link, a pop-up menu should appear that indicates the dining plans accepted and number of meal entitlements required for each meal. When I make our dining reservations, I search by breakfast, lunch or dinner. When searching this way, the system will provide time options within that meal period. The type of meal is determined by the time of your dining reservation.

Once I make all of our advanced dining reservations, I create a chart with all of our plans, including Fast Pass+ and dining reservations. On that chart, I also indicate the number of meal entitlements required for each meal. Doing so helps me to ensure that we do not run out of meal entitlements before our departure day. We always do breakfast or lunch on the day we depart.

Samantha, as you make those dining plans, be sure to consider a few character dining experiences. We love to do pre-park opening dining reservations at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot and Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. If we make a reservation for 8:00 a.m. and are out before 9:00 a.m., we jump in the standby line for Frozen Ever After in Epcot or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom. If you try this strategy, just check the park hours to be sure the park opens no earlier than 9:00 a.m. and there are no early morning Extra Magic Hours!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
