We signed up for late dining with a 3 year old not knowing seating is 8:15pm. That is too late. What are our options if we can't change it? We have my parents (60's) who want late seating and us who need to think of our son and bedtime.

    Hi Leah!

I understand your dilemma. Having brought both of my children to Disney at pre-school age, I've had to deal with those very same challenges.

My recommendation is first see if your parents would be willing to settle for an earlier time. If your child goes to sleep at, say, 7pm, see if you can come to a consensus on a 6pm reservation.

In a few cases, if the restaurant have them, we've asked to be seated in booth seats, to where we can lay our "sleepy head" on the seat and place a jacket under as pillow.

In terms of reservation changes, Disney usually asks to notify them as soon as you are aware of a change, but unless the reservation required a credit card, you should be able to cancel without there being any personal penalty.

Finally, and maybe the least favorite option, the parents have dinner alone and you take your child back to the room. Hmmm, a romantic evening it could be for them, yes? :-)

Good luck! Hope everything works out for you!
