Is the Shades of Green resort only for active duty personnel? If you have served in the armed forces do you qualify to stay there?

    Hi JoAnn,

One of the many things I love about the Walt Disney Company is its very clear appreciation for those who serve in the military.  Discounted theme park tickets are frequently made available to American servicemen and women and their families.

The U.S. government established the Shades of Green Resort on Walt Disney World property as an armed forces recreation center for American soldiers (retired and active) to enjoy.  If you go to www.shadesofgreen.org and then click on the "eligibility" tab at the top of the page, you will see a long list of the categories of people who may book vacations at this wonderful resort.  I hope this list will provide the information you need to determine whether you are eligible to stay at Shades of Green on your next visit to Walt Disney World.

Thanks so much for your question!
