I have severe asthma and I need to have my nebulizer to take my medicine. Will it be a problem for me to bring it into the park?

    Hi Kim,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I’m an asthmatic too, and I never leave my inhaler behind while visiting the Parks. I think it’s super smart that you are pre-planning for your trip to be enjoyable AND safe.

As a medical device, you are more than welcome to bring your nebulizer to the Parks. The nurses at the First Aid Centers will also happily store it for you. Clearly label your medicine and machine, and they will keep it until you need to use it. If you do leave your device, make sure to have a handheld inhaler with you in case of an emergency. When you need treatment, there are private cubbies in the Center where you can use your nebulizer.

Often, asthma is triggered by weather conditions. If you are sensitive to heat, you might want to consider the Disability Access Service (DAS). Walt Disney World is committed to providing an excellent experience for all of its Guests, including those with medical conditions. The DAS allows you to bypass the standby line in exchange for a scheduled return time. If you are unable to wait in the conventional queue secondary to your asthma, this service might be helpful. Stop by Guest Relations in any of the Parks to talk with a Cast Member and see if this accommodation is right for you.

Kim, please make sure to discuss your travel plans with your doctor before you leave. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back.
