Does it make sense to take the Disney Dining Plan when traveling with our grandkids aged 10 and 4? We are seniors and tend to eat less than the portions provided and our granddaughter is a very picky eater to boot.

    Hi Marylyn!

Although I am a huge fan of the dining plan, in your situation I'm not sure it would be a good idea.  It does provide you with a lot of food, and it sounds like you would not be able to eat it all.  If your grandchildren are particular and don't like something on the menu, that certainly won't help the value standpoint either.

In my experience, the dining plan works well for people who plan to eat a lot of table-service or character meals anyway.  If you would normally be happy eating smaller meals, with maybe a few character meals for the kids, then you will likely save money by scheduling whatever meals you prefer and paying as you go.
