    Jonathan from WA Asked

Is there any secret to getting a reservation for the Wishes dessert party? We have been coming every year for the last few years. We are coming back on October 20 for 10 days. Still not able to get a pair of tickets for the party.

    Hi Jonathan,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I’ll admit that your question cracked me up because I had asked myself the same thing until my family’s latest trip to Walt Disney World Resort last month! I had always wanted to attend the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party but I had never been able to get a reservation until our last trip. The secret? Persistence, persistence, PERSISTENCE. (This is also the secret to getting dining reservations at harder-to-get restaurants…)

Why was I so persistent this time? This was the first time that I really wanted to go in order to ensure that my Mom and Stepfather had a place to sit during the show. I checked almost every day for a reservation the month prior to our visit and, lo and behold, one day, a table popped up one afternoon! In fact, I noticed that there were several availabilities in the week prior to our visit, probably due in no small part to the cancellation policy for these kinds of dining events.

If you don’t manage to get lucky, have no fear! From what I understand, same-day reservations are now available for the Dessert Party. Availability permitting, you’ll likely be seated in one of the “upper” terraces of the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant and then you’ll be able to move to a viewing location in the Plaza Gardens a little bit before the show begins.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
