Can a scooter go on the new sky liner gondola rides to the parks? Also if yes, How many at one time?

Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jennifer!

The opening date for the new Disney Skyliner system is just around the corner and I, for one, can’t wait! While we haven’t received many specifics about the gondolas beyond what’s been posted on the Disney Parks Blog and the Disney Parks YouTube channel, we do know that each gondola will accommodate up to 10 Guests, including Guests in wheelchairs.

Looking at photos and video of the interior of the cabins, there will be two slatted wooden benches that face each other on either side of the gondola’s sliding doors. In my estimation, it doesn’t look like more than one wheelchair or ECV and a few additional Guests will be able to fit in each. Unfortunately, although Senior Vice President of Walt Disney World Resort Thomas Mazloum explicitly indicated the wheelchair capacity, none of the press surrounding the Skyliner system has specifically mentioned ECVs yet. We do know that unlike other some forms of Disney Resort Transportation, all Guests will need to remain seated when the Skyliner system is in operation.

Since you’ll be arriving a couple of months after the system has begun operation, I would encourage you to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog (as well as the Disney Parks' other official social media channels) for updates and more information regarding access to the Skyliner for Guests with Mobility Disabilities.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything else we can do to help you plan your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth.

    We’ll see you real soon!
