    Laura from KY Asked

Is the sci-fi restaurant appropriate for a 3 1/2 year old? I saw on the description it stated "sci-fi" and monster films. Thank you.

Hi Laura! The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is one of my family's favorite restaurants! My kids just think it is so cool to dine in a car and watch those campy movies while the servers whiz by on roller skates. The old science fiction film clips are more comical than scary for adults and older kids; however, I could see how some of them could be disturbing for a younger child.

My children are older than yours, but I did dine at Sci-Fi with my four-year-old nephew earlier this year. He was quietly mesmerized by the movie screen while we ate lunch (which made for a very pleasant meal for the rest of the family!). He did not seem upset by the creatures on the screen, and neither did any of the other young children in the restaurant. The clips on the screen are brief, and none of them are graphic or very realistic. However, every child is different and if your three-year-old is very sensitive or  fearful of monsters, it's possible that he or she may be upset at some of the images at Sci-Fi. In my experience, most young children are not affected, but if you're worried, you might want to stop by the restaurant and ask if you could have a peek at the screen before deciding if you'd like to dine there.
