We are scheduled for a 3 night cruise on the Disney Dream leaving on 1/26 (Fri-Mon). There is a scheduled pirate night and the booklet we received references a possible formal or semi-formal night. Is there a formal or semi-formal dinner for this cruise?Ty

    Ahoy, Caren!

Thanks for cruising by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question - I'm happy to help!

Only a few short days until you'll be sailing away with Captain Mickey and his crew - I can imagine how excited you and your family must be about your magical Disney Cruise Line vacation! I'm sure you're in the midst of packing those last minute items, and making sure you're prepared for all the fun activities you'll be experiencing onboard.

My first advice for a three-night cruise is - don't overpack! You'll want to have the necessities - swimsuits/coverups, PJs, toiletries, etc., but you'll also want to save room in your suitcase to bring home some awesome souvenirs from your cruise.

For your 3-night voyage, the Dress Code will be as follows:

Night 1: Cruise Casual  - cruise casual means no swimwear, tank tops, or flip-flops, and I recommend no casual shorts. The girls in my family usually wear cute tops with dressy shorts or capris, and my husband will wear a polo/golf-type shirt with dress shorts or jeans.

Night 2: Pirate Night! Everyone onboard gets in the swashbuckling spirit to celebrate - even your Dining Room Team! My crew usually dresses in black and red, with eye patches and bandanas. We're kind of "Pirate Minimalist" with our costumes, though my youngest has worn a full pirate costume in the past. You'll also see families dressed in what I like to call "Full Jack Sparrow"! It's really up to you how ARRRRGGHH-mazing you want your pirate outfits to be.

Night 3: The last night of your cruise will be an optional Dress-Up Night. Recommended attire is button-down shirts and slacks for men, and dresses or pantsuits for women. Some guests choose to go a bit more dressy on this evening, and take advantage of the onboard photography services for a formal family photo op.

I hope this helps with your planning and packing. Have a magical cruise on the Disney Dream! - Diane W.
