We scheduled dinner at Trail’s End Restaurant and I was wondering the easiest way to get there. We will either go straight from AK (if possible) or go from our resort (All-Stars Sports). Is it there an interactive map that suggests these routes? Thanks!

    Howdy Karla,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for stopping by with your question today!

Sounds like you've discovered one of the hidden gems of Walt Disney World dining. Trail's End Restaurant at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground serves up traditional American fare in a rustic and peaceful setting, and I think it's one of the best Table Service values on property.

Getting there from Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is pretty simple. At the bus depot outside the park, just look for the stop for Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. That bus will take you to the hotel and the ride is about 25 minutes or so. You'll also want to factor in wait time for your bus (those run approximately every 20 minutes) and time to walk to the restaurant once you've arrived. I'd give yourself at least an hour, just to be safe.

If you'll be heading to dinner from Disney's All-Star Sports Resort instead, I'd recommend taking the bus to Magic Kingdom. From there, look for the boat dock with service to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The boat dock is a short walk away from the restaurant once you arrive. In terms of total travel time, start to finish, I'd plan on this taking about the same, or even a little longer, than the direct route from Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

If you're running short on time and don't mind paying out-of-pocket for the convenience, another option is to take a cab directly there.

I'm not aware of an official source for finding transportation routes, but a great independent site that I use quite a bit is www.ourlaughingplace.com. Look for the "Transportation Wizard" link on the top right of the page.

I hope that helps, Karla, and wishing you a magical vacation!
