We are scheduled to take a Bahamian Disney cruise in April 2015 on the Wonder. I wanted to know how the debarkation process is when re-entering the US in Key West? Is it a long process since we will have to go thru customs?

    Ahoy, Jessica!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Sadly, all good things must come to an end...even a fabulous voyage on the Disney Wonder! The good news is, Disney Cruise Line wants to make debarkation as smooth as possible for Guests.

On the final evening of your cruise, you'll receive detailed instructions about the debarkation process and  color coded luggage tags. Simply fill out the tags, place them on your bags and place them outside your stateroom before the designated time (typically 10 or 11pm) for complimentary delivery to the terminal. Make sure to keep all valuables, such as jewelry, medicines, cell phones, cameras, etc. in your day bag. Also, hang on to your Key to the World Card and your passport/photo identification, and don't forget to save some clothes - you'd hate to have to disembark in your Mickey PJs!

On debarkation morning, you'll be scheduled for breakfast in the same restaurant where you were scheduled to dine on the last evening of your cruise. After breakfast, you'll debark and collect your luggage in the terminal. Porters are available to help with your bags as you navigate through Customs, so make sure to have some cash on hand for a tip if you use their services. Going through Customs is very simple - just present your travel documents and Customs forms (they'll be provided for you), and it's a quick process. Soon, you'll be on your way to the ground transportation area!

It's never taken my family more than 30 minutes to clear the terminal once we're off the ship. The worst part has always been stepping off the ship - our floating home-away-from-home!

Hopefully this helps with any worry over the debarkation process. Wishing you a magical voyage on the Disney Wonder in 2015! Please come back and visit with any questions! - Diane W.
