To the SC moms: Headed to WDW 6/5-6/11/12. How does the weather during that time compare to the weather in coastal SC (I live in the Myrtle Beach area)? Also, if you have ever driven down to WDW from SC, about how long did it take?

Hello Catherine from a fellow resident of the Grand Strand!

In June you will find the weather in central Florida remarkably similar to the South Carolina coast. Though it seems impossible, Orlando can actually be more humid and hotter than our home.

Driving takes our family close to nine hours. This includes eating in a fast food restaurant and a couple of rest stops. Sometimes we take 378 through Lake City to I-95 but this route traps you on the interstate for hours mile after identical mile. Highway 17 South puts drops you on  I-95 near Beaufort and the marsh and lowcountry scenery between Charleston and the interstate is beautiful. There are a few stretches on this road that are still two lanes.

Please ask me any additional questions you have about your Walt Disney World vacation. I love helping a fellow coastal Carolina girl.
