    Aimee from AZ Asked

I saw the answer about Haunted Mansion typically being closed at end of August for the holiday revamp... we are going August 27-30 this fall, I’m so worried that it will have already closed and my kids LOVE that ride. Has it typically closed by August 27?

Howdy, Aimee! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!

I am thrilled to hear that you and your family will be spending several days at the Disneyland Resort in August! Around this time of year, the parks start transitioning to Halloween Time, and yes, with that comes the closure of Haunted Mansion to transform the attraction into Haunted Mansion Holiday. In the past, this closure has taken about 18 days as the overlay is quite extensive. Haunted Mansion Holiday is slated to open when Halloween Time officially begins on September 7, 2018, so that might mean it will close for refurbishment as early as August 20th. However, nothing is final until the official calendar for those dates is released online. So be sure to check back mid to late July to see what attractions will be available during your trip.

Although Haunted Mansion might be closed during your visit, there will still be plenty to see and do! In fact, you will be at the Disneyland Resort for the final weeks of Pixar Fest. The new Incredicoaster will be open and the Paint the Night parade will light up Disney California Adventure Park each evening. You will also get to experience the newly reimagined Redd Pirate scene in Pirates of the Caribbean. Finally, if you haven't been to the Disneyland Resort since Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT opened, then prepare yourself for a whole lot of awesome! This attraction is a rip-roaring good time with the super fast rises and drops while you jam out to some of Star-Lord's best tunes.

Please stop by again if you have any other questions about your trip. See ya real soon!
