Which savanna at AKV has the best view of giraffes - pembe or sunset savanna?

    Hi Kerri!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas is my family’s favorite Disney Vacation Club Resort, and our Home Resort. We love the quieter atmosphere of Kidani Village. Nothing says, “Welcome Home” to my family like arriving to the soft lantern light and drumbeats of Kidani Village after a busy day in the theme parks.

The Pembe Savanna is unique to Kidani Village and features the Okapi. Although the Okapi resembles a zebra, it is actually a relative of the giraffe. You will also find Impala, Red River Hogs and several species of birds.

If the giraffe and zebra are really where your interest lies, you should request the Sunset Savanna, as these species are not part of the Pembe Savanna. The Sunset Savanna also features Ostrich, Wildebeest, and African Crowned Cranes.

Please keep in mind that while Cast Members will do their very best to accommodate your request, it can never be guaranteed. There are public viewing areas available for both Pembe and Sunset Savannas, so you will have the opportunity to view both areas no matter where your room location is.

I hope you have a wonderful stay at Kidani Village! Let me know if there are any other questions I can help you with as you plan your upcoming vacation.

    Have a Disney Day!

A lifelong Disney fan, joining Disney Vacation Club opened a world of vacation possibilities for our family of six. I’ve traveled with young children and those young at heart, groups both large and small, and during every season of the year. Whether meeting a Disney Princess, training to be a Jedi or dining with Mickey, our family enjoys it all. For this nurse, every day is better with a little dose of Disney! Learn More About Kate
