We are sailing out of Miami, but flying in to Ft. Lauderdale. It seems reasonable to pay for a cab for a family of four to get to Miami. Do I need to book a cab in advance after the cruise to get back to Ft. Lauderdale?

    Ahoy Tom!
Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Captain Mickey will be arriving in Miami next week when the Disney Wonder navigates her way to her newest home port!  I'm very excited to hear you will be setting sail for a magical voyage onboard the Disney Wonder real soon!
I did a little research for you and found out a taxi ride from the Fort Lauderdale airport to the Port of Miami is about $67.00. Another option you might want to consider is a luxury sedan which is estimated around $70.00 (one way) for up to four passengers.  When you disembark the ship, there will be plenty of taxis waiting at the port to transport you back to the Ft. Lauderdale Airport.  If you are interested in the luxury sedan, check out the Go Airport Shuttle on the airport's website.
I hope this helps with your planning, Tom!  Please let me know if you have any other questions!  I'm always happy to help!
    Have a "Wonder"ful day!
