We are sailing the Mediterranean in May. We have booked private tours for two of our ports. Trying to schedule a pick-up time. Would 8:00 a.m. be realistic for both Naples and Civitavecchia? Wasn't sure of the process for going ashore in Med. ports. Thanks

Welcome back, Jodie! Soon you'll be heading to Barcelona to board the Disney Magic for what is sure to be a magical sailing throughout Europe.

Both Naples and Civitavecchia are ports where tendering is not required, so the ship will pull right up to the dock and once the ship is cleared, guests will be able to begin going ashore. To go ashore, you'll simply show your Key To The World Card as you disembark and then walk down the ramp onto the dock. Since the Magic is scheduled to to have an "All Ashore" time of 7:30 a.m. in both of those ports, as long as you're up, ready, and have had breakfast, you should be all set to disembark and meet your private tour at 8:00. Just keep in mind that at times, the ship may get in a bit late or the clearance might not come right at 7:30, so please tell your private tour guide that information so he or she is prepared to wait just a bit in case you're not there right at 8:00. But, in my experience, many times, the ship is actually in the port early and the clearance comes early so that you may find you're able to disembark before 7:30. If you want to really play it on the safe side, perhaps 8:30 would be a good pick up time, as you'll be able to sleep in a bit more and not be anxious about the exact "All Ashore" time. Who knows, you might even find yourself with a bit of time to explore the port area first!

Your itinerary includes a stop in Villefranche, and this port does require tendering. Sometimes the stop in La Spezia may require tendering as well, depending on how many other ships are in the port that day, so for both of those ports of call, be sure to allow extra time to take the tender boat to the dock.

Since you are not taking a Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure, but are arranging your own, plan to arrive back to the ship with plenty of time before the "All Aboard" time, to ensure you don't miss the ship. Have a wonderful cruise, Jodie!
