Sailing on our first Disney Cruise in March. We will be flying in the day before and staying in a hotel close to the port. Could you please give me some recommendations on where to stay? We were looking into the Radisson by the Port. Thanks!

    Hi, Gia!

Yay -- your first Disney cruise! You're going to wonder why you haven't sailed with Disney Cruise Line DCL) before now.

If you're flying into the Orlando International Airport (MCO), you can take the complimentary Disney's Magical Express to a WDW resort and purchase roundtrip ground transportation through DCL ($70 per person) in order to get to Port Canaveral and back to MCO. DCL transportation will handle your luggage, and you won't have to deal with it until you arrive in your stateroom on board. You can start your Disney vacation once you arrive at the airport with magical touches everywhere you go.

If you choose to stay near the cruise terminal the night before, you'll need to secure transportation to your hotel when you arrive at the airport and transportation to the ship the next morning.  Some hotels offer a free shuttle to the cruise terminals, and some include the shuttle fare into the hotel package. The ones I'm most familiar with are:

Radisson Resort at the Port -- one of the closest hotels to Port Canaveral; offers free shuttle service to the port, as well as to the Kennedy Space Center and other nearby attractions -- 321-784-0000

Country Inn & Suites Cape Canaveral -- located less than 1 mile from the port; provides cruising guests with the option to include free round-trip transportation to/from the port with their reservation; offers a free deluxe breakfast every morning -- 321-784-8500

Quality Suites -- offers a Park and Cruise package ($15) that allows guests to park their vehicles at the hotel and take a shuttle service round-trip to and from the cruise port.; provides guests with a free continental breakfast buffet -- 321-783-6868

Let me know if you have more questions or need further direction. I'd be happy to help! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation.

    Bon voyage,
