Sailing on 12/9 on the Dream for the Merrytime cruise. Is there a formal or semiformal night? do you know if they will offer room decorations for the holiday similar to what they do for birthdays?

Welcome back, Cynthia! Your Very Merrytime Sailing will be such a different experience than your other cruise, as holidays on the high seas have even more magic in store!

My family and I have been on a few Very Merrytime cruises with Disney, and they are some of our favorites! The life-size gingerbread house in the atrium, the magical Christmas tree lighting ceremony, the Deck the Deck tropical party, and all of the other themed activities will put your family in the Christmas spirit!
Your cruise departing on December 9 is a three night sailing, so your dress code will include one cruise casual attire night, Pirate Night (casual or pirate-themed attire), and an optional dress up night. On that optional dress up night, many guests do choose to wear a formal or semi-formal outfit. In fact, on the Very Merrytime sailings we've enjoyed, many guests, including my family, choose to wear Christmas outfits that night, as it makes for great Christmas card photos!

I'm glad you're interested in the fun extras that Disney offers for pre-purchase too. There are always some really fun options for stateroom decorations, gifts and surprises for the kids or parents, and delicious food and beverage options for delivery in your stateroom. But, for the holidays, there are usually themed gifts and amenities, including stateroom decorations, which really set the mood as you enter your stateroom! Disney just released the Halloween on the High Seas specials for purchase on their site, so I'd keep an eye on the site over the next couple of months when the Christmas amenities are sure to make an appearance!

Have fun as you plan your cruise, Cynthia!
