We are sailing on the Disney Magic out of Galveston on 2/23 and have a 5 y.o. and a 2 & 1/2 y.o. Any suggestions for excursions in Grand Cayman or Cozumel that would be age appropriate? is it easy to find something to do on your own? Prices seem cra

Welcome aboard, Cara! I see you're from Texas. I bet you are thrilled that Disney is now sailing out of your home state!

Your kids are going to have a blast onboard the Magic, and I'm sure you'll find Grand Cayman to be a really family-friendly spot. It's a favorite of mine. Your question got cut off, but I am guessing you were saying that you found the prices to be a bit expensive for Port Adventures. They certainly can be, especially when traveling with very young children. To be totally honest with you, some of our favorite port days have been when we have had no Port Adventures booked and we just explored the port area on our own, then headed back to the ship early. With most of the other guests out in the port, we were able to take advantage of some pool time when the decks were much less crowded. With a 5-year old and almost 3-year old, that might be just right for you.

The Port Adventures are great and very family friendly, however your kids would probably have just as much fun riding the tender boat from the Magic to Grand Cayman and possibly hopping a bus or taxi to Seven Mile Beach to spend a couple hours in the sand and surf on your own. Even just wandering the downtown Grand Cayman area right at the port can be a family adventure in itself. You'd save a ton of money that way, and be free to head back to the ship whenever you were ready.

In Cozumel, there is a shopping area right as you walk off the ship that is fun to explore, and with no tendering required, you can take the kids back onto the ship at your leisure. I hope these ideas help. Let me know if you have any other questions before you depart!
